Andrews | Study Permit Client (currently studying in Canada)

Niki played an instrumental role in the approval of my study permit and Temporary Resident Visa application to Canada. She did an excellent job in guiding me on how to prepare various key documents such as my Statement of Purpose, Study Plan, etc. Her attention to detail was awesome.

Niki responded to my enquiries in a timely manner and often went the extra mile to get things done. You can trust her with your travel plans.

FAQs
OUR LEGAL
SERVICES

  • Canada has multiple pathways that may be of interest to your goals and intentions to explore opportunities in Canada.

We encourage you to download our PDF below.

 FAQs | WORK & RELOCATION

  • While we are not a recruitment agency, we can assist you in applying for a work permit when you have received a job offer from a Canadian employer.

  • Relocating to Canada is a significant decision and the process can vary depending on your individual circumstances. There is a need to determine your eligibility and ascertain the immigration program or category that best suits your situation. Canada offers various immigration pathways including Express Entry (Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program or Canada Experience Class), Family or Spousal sponsorship, Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs), among other options. Your eligibility will depend on factors such as your age, education, work experience, language proficiency, and family connections to Canada.

Our team is here to assist you with a comprehensive assessment of your eligibility and provide guidance on which immigration category suits you best. We can also provide an estimate of the relocation costs based on your unique circumstances during the assessment.

FAQs | STUDY PERMITS & SCHOLARSHIPS

  • Tuition fees vary depending on the program of study and your province of residence. On average, tuition for undergraduate students ranges from around $15,000 CAD per year up to about $50,000 CAD for some medical or doctoral programs.

  • As an international student looking to study in Canada, the cost can seem daunting. There are tuition fees and other costs such as housing, transportation, food, and entertainment that must be taken into account.

When it comes to accommodation and cost of living, this too varies between provinces; generally you can expect rental prices ranging from $400 to over $1,000 a month for a room.

Our team is here to assist you with a comprehensive assessment of your eligibility and provide guidance on which immigration category suits you best. We can also provide an estimate of the relocation costs based on your unique circumstances during the assessment.

  • Obtaining a scholarship to study in Canada is a commendable goal, but it's important to understand that securing a scholarship in Canada can be highly competitive. Scholarships are typically awarded to exceptional candidates who demonstrate outstanding academic achievements, leadership qualities, and a strong commitment to their field of study. Scholarships in Canada often require a high level of academic achievement, with most applicants striving for a GPA of 3.8/4.0 or higher.

While obtaining a scholarship in Canada is challenging, it's not impossible. It requires dedication, hard work, and a strong academic and extracurricular record. Keep in mind that there are also other avenues to pursue your education in Canada, such as student loans.

While we do not assist in finding scholarships or funding, our experienced team can assist you in navigating the complexities of the study permit application.

  • Yes, it is possible to bring your partner or spouse, as well as your dependent children, with you to Canada while you are on a study permit. Canada values family reunification and recognizes the importance of supporting international students who wish to have their loved ones with them during their studies.

However, there are requirements that need to be met for them to qualify for such visas. You will need to provide proof of your relationship with your partner (such as marriage or common-law partnership certificates) and proof of dependency for your children (such as birth certificates) when applying for their permits. Additionally, it's important to demonstrate that you have sufficient financial resources to support your family during your time in Canada. This includes covering tuition fees, living expenses, and health insurance for all family members.

Our team is here to assist you with a comprehensive assessment of your family's eligibility and their chances of moving to Canada with you on your study permit

  • As an International Student in Canada, you are allowed to work while completing your studies. You do not need an extra work permit in order to work while studying in Canada.

You are generally allowed to work up to 20 hours a week during regular academic sessions and full-time during scheduled academic breaks, such as summer holidays or winter breaks. There are two types of jobs available for students: on-campus and off-campus employment.

On-campus employment refers to any job located within the university's premises with the same organization at which you are studying. On-campus jobs include working as a research assistant, lab technician and teaching assistant.

Off-campus employment includes any job located outside the university's premises, such as working as a barista in a coffee shop, food server at a restaurant or sales associate at retail stores.

Working can help international students gain valuable experience and also get access to resources that may enhance their learning experience while studying abroad. With proper documents and permits, it is possible for students to gain meaningful experience through these jobs without sacrificing their studies.

 FAQs | VISITING CANADA (VV)

  • You can stay on a Visitor Visa in Canada for a maximum of six months in most cases. However, the actual duration of your stay may be determined by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) officer when you arrive in Canada. It's essential to check the expiry date on your visitor visa or the duration of your authorized stay on your entry stamp to know precisely how long you are allowed to stay.

  • The UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) IELTS test is one version of the IELTS test, which is widely accepted worldwide.

Canada recognizes IELTS as a valid English language proficiency test and accepts both the Academic and General Training versions of the IELTS exam for different immigration and study programs. The UKVI IELTS test is essentially an IELTS test with additional security measures to prevent fraud, primarily designed for UK visa applications.

However, it's important to note that specific requirements may vary depending on the immigration stream or educational institution you are applying to in Canada.
